During my time as a practicing financial planner I called the plans I developed for clients, "Financial Action Plans". The reason was that I wanted to reinforce the fact that all the planning in the world was of no value unless and until the client took action to carry out those plans. So I told them that unless they were willing to commit to taking action they should not be spending the time and money it would take to have a financial plan developed for them. The same is true of this website. There is no point in spending the time necessary to read through and digest all there is on this website unless you are committed to taking action. The presumption is that if you have gotten this far into the website you have found it of interest and potentially helpful. So this topic section will be devoted to setting out very general action steps you can take, under the direction of qualified professionals, to help insure a fulfilling and rewarding Elderhood. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: By necessity this information on this website is generic in nature and its application to your particular situation needs to be tailored to fit who you are and your own unique circumstances. You should not implement any of the generalized recommendations contained in this website without individual counsel and guidance from highly qualified practitioners such as Certified Financial Plannersâ„¢, estate planning and elder care attorneys and Certified Public Accountants. You should not view the advice and recommendations contained on the website as having established a client/advisor relationship between yourself and the host of the website. See the Additional Resources tab for information on how to locate the necessary professionals in each of these areas. |
